Mr Ndawonde’s thoughts on the work done by the VW B-BBEE Initiatives Trust:
“The Trust is one of the most successful automotive transformation focused SME funders. We have deployed +R70 million into six black owned Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers. Three of the six suppliers have fully repaid their loans. The remaining three are operational, service OEMs, and are making repayments to their loans. Through the financial and non-financial support we’ve extended to these suppliers, we have proven that it is possible to fund and support, sustainable and profitable black owned automotive suppliers.”
Mr Ndawonde’s aspirations for the VW B-BBEE Initiatives Trust
For the Trust to build on its success and realise its vision of driving transformation and localisation of black owned suppliers in the automotive value chain.
